Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the agentlint CLI, the agentlint.sh website, and any hosted dashboard or API offered under the agentlint name (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Gerardo Perez Manjarrez (sole proprietor, doing business as agentlint) ("agentlint", "we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Operator notice. The Service is currently operated by an individual sole proprietor doing business as agentlint. The operator may, at any time and without further notice to you, assign these Terms, transfer the operation of the Service, and assign all related contracts, accounts, intellectual property, and customer relationships to a successor business entity (such as a limited liability company or corporation) formed for the purpose of operating the Service. After any such assignment, references in these Terms to agentlint, "we", "us", or "our" will be deemed to refer to the successor entity, and these Terms will continue in full force and effect as between you and that entity. Your continued use of the Service after any such assignment constitutes your acceptance of the assignment.

1. The CLI is open-source and free

The agentlint command-line tool is published under the MIT license. Your rights and obligations regarding the CLI are governed by that license, which is reproduced in full in the source repository. Nothing in these Terms restricts your rights under the MIT license.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You may use the website and create an account if you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) and capable of entering into a binding contract. You are responsible for the activity on your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for notifying us at hello@agentlint.sh if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and taxes

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly basis through Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method each billing cycle until you cancel. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may not include applicable taxes; where required, taxes are added and collected at checkout based on your billing location.

We may change prices for new billing cycles by giving you at least thirty (30) days' notice by email or in-product. Your existing billing cycle is unaffected by the change.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the dashboard or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Your subscription remains active through the end of the current billing period; we do not issue prorated refunds for the unused portion of a period in which you cancel. Refunds for service failures attributable to us are described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy at agentlint.sh/refunds, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
• Attempt to access, scan, or test areas of the Service you are not authorized to access; bypass authentication; or interfere with the integrity, performance, or availability of the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the hosted dashboard or APIs (this restriction does not apply to the open-source CLI).
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the hosted Service without a written agreement with us.
• Use the Service to scan a repository you do not own or do not have permission to scan.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice depending on severity.

6. Your content and data

The Service may store the results of repository scans you submit (the "Scan Data"), along with metadata such as the repository name, commit SHA, score, and rule outcomes. You retain all rights in the underlying source code; you grant us a limited license to process the Scan Data solely to provide and improve the Service. We will not publish your private repositories' source code or your Scan Data publicly without your explicit consent.

The public leaderboard at agentlint.sh/leaderboard scans only public GitHub repositories, in accordance with the methodology published with the leaderboard. If your repository appears on the leaderboard and you would like it removed, contact hello@agentlint.sh.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Service you consent to that handling.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers including, without limitation, GitHub (authentication), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Stripe (payments). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Intellectual property

The agentlint name, logo, and the hosted dashboard (excluding the open-source CLI) are owned by agentlint. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the hosted Service for its intended purpose during the period of your subscription.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the agent-readiness score accurately predicts the behavior of any particular AI agent.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither agentlint, its operator, agents, employees, contractors, successors, nor affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The aggregate liability of agentlint and its operator, taken together, arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, whether in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100), whichever is greater. The existence of more than one claim will not enlarge this limit. These limitations form an essential basis of the bargain between you and us; the Service would not be provided without them.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless agentlint from and against any claim, damages, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, or (b) your scanning of repositories you did not own or have permission to scan.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms. The provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 9 (Intellectual property), 10 (Disclaimer), 11 (Limitation of liability), 12 (Indemnification), 14 (Governing law), and 15 (Miscellaneous) — will survive.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service is the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

15. Miscellaneous

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and agentlint regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the Service at least fifteen (15) days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
